Additionally, the judiciary obtain their power from the Crown and there is a distinct overlap of functions between the powers, which should be separated for the effective application of the separation of powers and the efficacy of Parliament as check on the executive8. The accident left her in great pain and she spent three months recovering in a full body cast. She had a broken collarbone, a broken spinal column, broken pelvis, broken ribs, and eleven fractures in her right leg, a dislocated shoulder and a crushed and dislocated right foot.
